Plot
Eva (Odessa Young), a 19th-century widow, is tasked with making an impossible choice when, in the midst of a particularly harsh winter, a ship sinks off the coast of her isolated fishing post. Eva and her crew must choose between rescuing the castaways or surviving the winter on the last of their remaining food. Faced with the consequences of their choice and plagued by their guilt, the villagers struggle with a growing sense of dread and begin to believe that they are all being punished for their choices.
